Is your church on track to exceed budget this year?
In our surveys with hundreds of churches, we find that around 13% of churches report being ahead of budget. The number varies, of course, but it is never more than 20%.
The team at Fully Funded dreams of 100% of churches meeting and exceeding budget. We truly believe that a fully funded budget equals a fully funded vision. It has caused us to research WHY these churches exceed budget, and we have discovered one clear reason: A Champion.
No, we aren’t talking about the greatest basketball player ever (but we know who that is: Michael Jordan). And no, we aren’t talking about the greatest quarterback every (but we all know who it is: Tom Brady). We aren’t even talking about the best NASCAR driver ever (but we all know it was Dale Earnhardt). I’m not even discussing the greatest NHL player ever (which is Wayne Gretzky).
We’re talking about a person who is personally responsible for stewardship within the church. They ensure that money is part of several weekend messages each year. After those messages, they arrange next steps so people can respond to the message in practical ways. They provide discipleship materials to help people learn how to honor God with 100-percent of their money. The offering moment within each service is prepared with excellence so that it is truly a worshipful moment. Online giving is tested on a consistent basis to ensure the user experience is trouble-free.
This Champion helps the senior pastor carry the load of “all things stewardship.” This allows the pastor to more clearly focus on casting vision and serving people. And we can all agree that financial margin makes pastoring a church so much better.
So here is the BIG QUESTION: Does your church have a Champion?
To the Champions!
